About Continuity

The person behind Continuity.

Continuity offers direct access to experienced clinical research operations support, shaped around the study and the people delivering it.

Founder-led

Stephanie Elston

I bring more than ten years of experience in clinical trials, including seven years running the operations of a clinical trials unit within one of Europe’s largest specialist soft-tissue sarcoma centres. I held senior operational responsibility for a complex portfolio of commercial and academic trials, alongside investigator-led studies and international translational research. My commercial site experience spans early-phase oncology studies, including first-in-human trials, through to Phase III registration trials, working with biotechnology and pharmaceutical sponsors.

During that time, I worked closely with researchers and clinicians to help develop their ideas into studies that could be delivered. That meant bringing together realistic budgets, study documentation, approvals, staffing and ongoing coordination, often alongside their demanding clinical and research responsibilities.

I established Continuity to make that operational experience available to teams who need it. I enjoy understanding what a project needs, working through the detail with the people involved and helping put the plans into practice.

Translational research & collaboration

Connecting academic centres
and research laboratories.

Managing an international translational research programme for six years, from inception through grant delivery and expansion, has meant working across the boundaries between academic sponsors, clinical teams and research laboratories. I understand the coordination needed to bring study plans, funding, agreements and sample pathways together, and to keep a complex programme progressing.

I have also coordinated research collaborations with US academic laboratories, including material transfer agreements (MTAs), data transfer agreements (DTAs) and research contracts. My role is to bring together research requirements and input from investigators, institutional teams and legal colleagues, then coordinate the agreed actions.

The working relationship

How I work with your team.

I start by listening: what you are trying to achieve, what is getting in the way and what your team needs. We then agree where I can help, who will be responsible for each part of the work and what a useful result would look like.

You work directly with me throughout. Support can be a defined project assignment or ongoing operational input. I keep you informed as the work progresses and provide the agreed outputs, findings or support, shaped around your needs.
